Coming to Christ Despite Family Opposition

Since attending a Salt & Light Process™ training in 2023, I have been actively applying what I’ve learned. It has helped me feel more confident, especially the Spiritual Influence framework and tools like Christlike Character and prayer.  

A few years ago, I met a Hindu boy through a Christian friend of mine. At the time, he was living with his grandparents. I took the opportunity to invite him to stay with my family over Christmas, and he gladly accepted, staying with us for three days. 

During the stay, he was deeply touched by the Christlike character, hospitality, and love he experienced from us. After he went back to his grandparents, he began reading the bible, but read in secret out of fear that his family would see. I began to pray in fervently for him, and mentioned it to my church as a spiritual referral group, who also prayed for him. 

At one point, I visited his family and, with permission, prayed for his grandmother. However, the boy’s grandfather remained strongly opposed to his growing faith and threatened to kick him out if he did not stop reading his Bible. After his grandfather passed away, opposition continued from his parents and sister.  

Despite these major spiritual barriers, God continued to work in the boy’s life, and he eventually accepted Jesus as his savior!  

Now, he has become a missionary in another town and seeking to spread the Gospel to an unreached people group in our country. We continue to pray for his family, that they would experience the same love of Christ that led him to faith.
