Truth Telling

Because the Beatitudes are shaping who I am—Jesus now invites me to live with such integrity that my words don’t need dressing up.

All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.   Matthew 5:33-37 NIV

In a world full of half-truths, spin, and over-promising, Jesus cuts through it all with a simple challenge: Bob, let your ‘yes’ be yes, and your ‘no’ be no. The truth, when it’s wrapped in integrity, doesn’t need swearing, exaggeration, or fine print. Jesus is forming my heart to value honesty not just when it’s convenient, but even when it’s costly. And that kind of truth-telling builds trust, restores relationships, and reflects the character of my Father in heaven.

Being salt and light means my words shine as clearly as my actions. It means people can count on what I say—my handshake is as good as a legal contract. No games. No manipulation. Just simple, Spirit-led honesty that honors God and others.

What if...truth flowed from me as naturally as light from a lamp? That’s the kind of righteousness Jesus is forming in me. Let’s speak the truth—in love, and with integrity—together.

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
