Secret Place
Because the Beatitudes have taught me to seek God with a humble heart, Jesus now draws me into the quiet place of prayer—not as a performance, but as a conversation.
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.
Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Matthew 6:6 NIV
He warns me not to pray like the hypocrites, who turn prayer into a show for others.
Instead, He invites me to step away from the noise, close the door, and simply talk to my Father.
There, in the secret place, I’m reminded that God already knows what I need—but He delights when I bring it to Him anyway. Prayer isn’t about impressing God or others. It’s about knowing Him, trusting Him, and being known. Being salt and light begins in the secret place. Before I can shine in public, I must be still in private.
What if…my most powerful moments weren’t when I was seen, but when I was unseen—on my knees, whispering honest words to the God who listens? What if prayer became less of a task and more of a daily refuge where my soul is refreshed and realigned? That’s what Jesus offers. A hidden life of communion that bears visible fruit. Let’s pray like that—together.
Sharing the journey with you,
