Night and Day

For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.
1 Thessalonians 5:7-8 NIV

My mother used to say, “nothing good ever happens after midnight.” Life in the emergency room proved her right. The most serious medical emergencies tended to roll in after dark. Why are we at our worst when the sun goes down?

Darkness welcomes sin and folly. But in the Light of Christ, I can be sober-minded and protected.

Will you join me this week in sober-mindedness, putting on faith, love, and hope as our armor against the night? Praise God for spiritual daylight!

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
