Meekness
The Beatitudes are windows into the character to which Jesus calls me. Could meekness really be that important?
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. – Matthew 5:5
Meekness is one of the most misunderstood traits in the Beatitudes. It is often confused with weakness, when in reality, meekness is strength under control. It’s the quiet confidence of knowing who I am in Christ, without the need to push myself to the front or demand my own way. Jesus, the King of kings, described Himself as “gentle and lowly in heart” (Matthew 11:29), showing me that true power is expressed through meekness.
As Christ reshapes my heart, meekness grows. Defensiveness and the need for recognition diminish. Dependence on God alone increases.
Who knew the good life was just saying yes to God’s way?
What if... we seek the quiet strength of Jesus, letting go of the need to be right, noticed, or first.
Let’s do it together.
Sharing the journey with you,
