Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness
The Beatitudes are windows into the character to which Jesus calls me.
Jesus awakens a deep, driving passion - a hunger and thirst for righteousness.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. – Matthew 5:6
Hunger and thirst for righteousness isn’t a casual hope or a half-hearted wish. It’s a desperate longing — to be right with God, to live in His goodness, and to see His justice fill the broken places of the world. It's the kind of craving that shapes every decision, every prayer, every step. Jesus Himself lived with this passion — His whole life was about doing the will of the Father and bringing God's love into a hurting world.
As Christ reshapes my heart, I find myself less satisfied with the shallow things and more desperate for the things that matter — God's presence, His truth, and His kingdom come.
There’s nothing quite like living the way God made me to live.
What if... I truly lived this way? Oh, God, don’t let me settle for a half-hearted faith — help me to pursue You with the desperation of hunger and thirst, and let that longing shape how I live, love, and pray.
Let’s do it together.
Sharing the journey with you,
