Forgiveness

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Matthew 6:14–15 NIV

Because the Beatitudes have taught me to receive mercy with humility, Jesus now shows me how essential it is to extend that same mercy to others. Forgiveness isn’t optional—it’s at the heart of the gospel. Jesus doesn’t say this to burden me, but to free me.

When I hold onto bitterness, I become a prisoner to the very pain I’m trying to escape. But when I forgive,

I open the door to healing—for myself and for others.

Forgiveness is rarely easy, but it's always Christlike. It reminds me that I have been forgiven more than I could ever repay. Being salt and light means I carry the fragrance of grace into broken relationships.

When I forgive, I shine—not with my own light, but with the light of the One who hung on a cross and said,

“Father, forgive them.”

What if... forgiveness became my default posture instead of my last resort? What if others could see God's mercy through the way I release my right to retaliate? That’s the kind of forgiveness that changes hearts and opens doors. Let’s forgive freely—together.
