The Sin of the Desert

Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” John 4:28-29 NIV

A Bedouin shepherd once met a man who spoke persistently about Jesus. The shepherd replied, “I understand why you are persistent. You do not want to commit the sin of the desert.” The man was confused, so the shepherd explained. “The sin of the desert is knowing where the water is but refusing to tell others.”

The woman at the well could not help but tell others about the Living Water after tasting it. She knew that the first step to being a disciple of Jesus is telling others about Him!

Will you join me in responding like the woman at the well, who did not commit the sin of the desert but introduced people to the Oasis of Life?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
