Gentleness

He tends his flock like a shepherd. He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young. Isaiah 40:11 NIV

Gentleness is a rarely sought after virtue. Some people may even equate it to weakness. Yet could it be that godly gentleness is strength at its fullest.

When I am inconvenienced, I find it easy to respond to people in an abrasive, apathetic, or impatient way. However, to respond gently—with patience, compassion, and humility—goes against what feels natural and requires more strength than I can muster on my own. Only through Jesus and His Spirit can I demonstrate the same gentleness that transformed sinners into saints.

Will you join me this week in sincerely practicing this great virtue?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
