Let Loose and Laugh!

I enjoy activities that include laughter - why doesn't this happen more often in my life? Playful humor is truly therapeutic for me.

However, my humor so easily becomes “sophisticated.” Child-like humor is out of style. My humor as it “matures” often becomes cynical, sarcastic, or analytical. Where did my laughter go? Where is the wide-eyed, playful humor that I had as a child?

Sometimes my “spiritual maturity” follows the same path as my “humor maturity,” becoming likewise cynical, sarcastic, or analytical. With bruised emotions, a broken heart, and a soured soul, the freshness and simplicity of my faith fades. I forget that I am a child—God's child. Rushing into His arms I can find peace and laughter and walk away with a child-like faith again.

I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:3-4 NIV

Let us grow in humor and faith as we continue on our journey together in child-like humility, sincerity, awe, and laughter.

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
