What Do I See?

How I view my circumstances is based on my own inclinations and prejudices or even blind spots. At times I just see what I want to see, like the Pharisees did in the story of the sinful woman anointing Jesus with perfume. (Luke 7:36-50)

What did those present see?

The Pharisees saw a PROBLEM.

(Speaking of Jesus) If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.
Luke 7:39 NIV

Jesus saw a PERSON – a woman in need

Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman?
Luke 7:44 NIV

In the earthly life of Jesus, people mattered. He did not see people as problems but as opportunities to love them, forgive them and transform them.

Will you join me this week in “looking” at people as Jesus would?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
