Lack of Joy

God’s intention is for me to live a life of joy. I can often squash joy when living only inside the story of my circumstances rather than inside God’s reality.

David tells me the cure is found living in the reality of the presence of God. I take that to mean I can live in the reality of His presence even while in the midst of difficult circumstances.

You will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your [God’s] right hand. Psalm 16:11 NIV

Walking with Jesus—in the reality of His presence and trusting in His purposes—brings joy. The end result? Eternal pleasures.
