Power Tools: Our Words

Words sting, encourage, dishearten, or sooth. They are powerful— whether at the dinner table, in the car, at bedtime, in disagreement or not. People have known both the sting of my words and the encouragement of my words.

In today’s world words can attack us as they pop up on our internet devices. Some words are good. Some words are bad. All words come with an attitude.

Here are some words that I want to take to heart.
Gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.
Proverbs 15:4 NLT

Kind words are like honey–sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.
Proverbs 16:24 NLT

A person's words can be life-giving water; words of true wisdom are as refreshing as a bubbling brook. Proverbs 18:4 NLT

Will you join me in asking God to work in us and make every effort to speak words that encourage and comfort—all with a loving and respectful attitude?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
