Multiplying Witnesses Through Strategic Training in Sri Lanka
In Sri Lanka, a single church has become the spark for a multiplying movement of faith. Once, the Gospel flourished across this island nation, but over time the churches grew divided and the growth of Christianity slowed. Today, God is reigniting that light through the faithfulness of local leaders who are eager to see their communities reached once again.
Through our partnership with these leaders, the Salt & Light Process™ Witness Training (SLPWT) was conducted to help equip believers to live out and share their faith in their daily lives. More than 65 participants from several congregations came together for this training. For many, it was their first experience with the Salt & Light Process™, and throughout the day, hearts were stirred, and perspectives began to shift.
One participant reflected, “A person coming to know Jesus is a process. We need to cultivate and sow before we harvest.”
Others shared that they were reminded how essential spiritual maturity is for being an effective witness—that transformation must begin in the heart before it can be lived out in the world.
During this same time, three of our experienced Multiplying Trainers gathered with a small group of leaders who have been mentoring others across the region. From that group, five new trainers were identified and commissioned through an in-person Multiplying Trainers Training (MTT). This gathering helped clarify expectations, strengthen vision, and establish a practical strategy for expanding the ministry across Sri Lanka.
Training is now being conducted in Tamil, English, and Sinhalese, and the translation of the trainer materials in Sinhalese and Tamil is in its final stages of review. This ensures that believers can access this training in their heart language—removing barriers to growth and multiplying the impact of the Gospel.
What began in one church is now growing into a movement led by local believers who are equipping others to be witnesses for Christ in their own communities.
