When Creation Opens a Door to the Gospel

Sharing the Gospel with a coworker does not always begin with a carefully planned conversation. Sometimes, it begins by simply paying attention to the opportunities God places before us.

One equipped witness recently experienced this while sharing a two-hour ride home with a colleague. Because their workdays were usually so busy, they rarely had time to talk beyond their daily responsibilities. During the journey, however, they were able to slow down, discuss life, and get to know one another more personally.

More than halfway home, a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky.

Just two days earlier, the equipped witness had been reading the account of Noah’s ark in Genesis. Seeing the rainbow immediately brought that passage to mind, the rainbow God gave as a sign of His covenant. Recognizing an opportunity to turn an ordinary moment toward Jesus, she used the rainbow as a Faith Flag and began a spiritual conversation with her colleague.

A Faith Flag is a simple comment or observation that reveals something about our faith and creates an opportunity for another person to ask questions or continue the conversation. In this moment, something as familiar as a rainbow became a natural bridge to sharing the Gospel with her colleague.

This story reminds us that we do not need to force spiritual conversations. We can pray, build genuine relationships, listen carefully, and remain attentive to the moments God provides. A shared ride, an unhurried conversation, or something beautiful in creation may become an opportunity to point someone toward Jesus.

Where might God be giving you an opportunity to raise a Faith Flag with a coworker today?
