Hope in a Busy Clinic

South Asia - Equipped Saline Process® Participant

On a typical day in a busy outpatient clinic, the waiting room is often full and the schedule is tight. Yet even in the middle of the rush, God sometimes opens a quiet window for His peace and His Word.

Recently, a woman came to the clinic with a long history of constant headaches. Her symptoms usually improve with medication, but this time, as I reviewed her history, I gently asked about her life at home.

She began sharing about tensions in her marriage, and her mother added to the story. It became clear that, beneath the physical pain, there was deep emotional strain.

Drawing on what I learned through the Saline Process®—to care for the whole person, listen well, and ask meaningful questions, I continued the conversation. Then, in a natural and respectful way, I then asked about her spiritual life. She responded openly about her own faith practices.

Sensing an open door, and remembering the Saline Process®’ emphasis on permission-based witness, I asked if I could share how I find hope in difficult times. When she agreed, I spoke about the love of Christ and how Jesus helps me in moments of trouble. I encouraged her that God loves her deeply and is willing to carry her burdens.

I was able to give her a New Testament in her local language and invited her to read John 14. I read the first verse aloud: “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me.” She smiled and said she would read the chapter and continue from Matthew.

I am praying that God’s Word will bring health, healing, and wholeness to her life—and that, in God’s timing, this healing will overflow into her family. Encounters like this remind me how the Saline Process® equips everyday healthcare encounters with gentle, Christ-centered hope.
