Seek First His Kingdom
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33 NIV
Because the Beatitudes have reoriented my heart toward God’s kingdom, Jesus now gives me a clear and beautiful priority: seek first. Not second. Not when it’s convenient.
First. Jesus invites me to live with a focused heart—anchored in His kingdom, not distracted by the world’s noise. The more I chase after security, control, or comfort, the more anxious I become.
But when I seek Him first—His ways, His will, His righteousness—everything else finds its place.
He doesn’t promise a trouble-free life, but He does promise a well-ordered one, led by the hand of a faithful Father. Being salt and light means living with purpose and peace in a world that is constantly scattered and striving. It means trusting that when I pursue God above all, He is more than able to take care of the rest.
What if... I began each day asking, “What does it look like to seek Your kingdom first today, Lord?” What if my priorities, plans, and prayers all flowed from that one holy pursuit? That’s the path to freedom, fruitfulness, and deep joy. Let’s seek Him first—together.
