Pressing On….Following Jesus Together

Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. — Hosea 6:3a NIV

Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. — John 14:21a NIV

Today's Christian world hands me more spiritual content than ever before — podcasts, sermons, verses, all scrolling past on a screen. I can fill my mind with truth all day and still walk away unchanged. Hosea knew this centuries ago that acknowledging God isn't the same as pressing on toward Him. Pressing on means not only knowing something, but also moving toward obedience, reverence, and love that costs something.

John makes it unmistakenly clear: obedience isn't secondary evidence of our love for Jesus; it's the very definition of it. I've caught myself mistaking a well-informed mind for a surrendered life more than once. Pressing on means refusing to stop at information and continuing on into actual obedience.

What if… today, as we consider our spiritual lives, we let our obedience become our standard instead of our knowledge.

Prayer: Lord, forgive us for mistaking a full mind for a surrendered life.

Let's do this together.
