No Shortcuts

But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.  Matthew 7:14 NLT

When I bite into an apple and enjoy the crisp sweet taste, I do not think about the seeds that were planted years ago or the saplings that grew to maturity; the flowers that blossomed each spring or the bees that fertilized them. Without these small, significant steps, an apple cannot grow. There are no shortcuts.

Likewise, my spiritual life requires time and many small steps. The idea of shortcuts is sometimes appealing to me when I am feeling lazy and do not want to work. Yet, the reward of seeing God and knowing Him fully is worth every step and all my effort.

Will you join me in walking the hard, narrow road with joy? There is no other way to eternity with Christ!

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
