Focus
The eye is the lamp of the body.
If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.
But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness…
Matthew 6:22–23 NIV
Because the Beatitudes have tuned my heart to what is pure and true, Jesus now speaks to my focus.
My eyes are more than lenses—they’re windows to the soul. What I consistently look at, long for, and chase after will either fill me with light… or cloud me in darkness. When my eyes are “healthy” (clear, undivided, focused on God), my life radiates clarity, joy, and purpose. But if my eyes are set on selfish desires, envy, or distraction, everything becomes distorted. Jesus isn’t just warning me—He’s inviting me to live with eyes wide open to what truly matters.
Being salt and light means seeing the world—and myself—the way God does. It means guarding what I gaze at and choosing to focus on what fills, not empties. The eyes lead the heart, and the heart shapes my life.
What if... I started each day by fixing my eyes on the beauty of Jesus, instead of the noise of the world? That’s the vision Jesus offers. Let’s set our eyes on Him—together.
