The Incarnation

The Incarnation of Christ, of God becoming man in the form of Jesus, has taken on new meaning for me since my mother's death on Christmas Eve of 2015. I was reminded of the gift of Jesus, the Son of God, who came down into this world so that we could go up to Heaven. The birth, life, and sacrificial death of Jesus gave me assurance that my mother's faith in Him meant she is "home." The Incarnation is not a static doctrine, but rather a dynamic confidence. What a joy! This is why I celebrate Christmas.Paul spoke of Jesus' humanity.

Who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bondservant, and being made in the likeness of men.Philippians 2:6-7 NIV

Join me in singing, with renewed awareness,

Joy to the world, the Lord is come; let Earth receive her King!

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
