Give Thanks

Presidents in the United States have made proclamations calling for a day of Thanksgiving since the time of George Washington. This is a good thing. A day of public thanksgiving and prayer can bring healing to a nation. Today is Thanksgiving Day in the United States. My heart is filled with gratitude.

However, it was God himself who first proclaimed that gratitude is important. In fact, the Bible tells me that it is God's will that I give thanks.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. I Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV

Will you join me today in giving thanks no matter what is happening in our lives? Oh, by the way, I must remember that giving thanks is inexorably linked to rejoicing and praying. REJOICE! PRAY! GIVE THANKS!

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
