Who has time to think?

Phone calls, Zoom meetings, emails, work! When is there time to think? Taking time to ponder is not written into my schedule. I think I may undervalue the importance of pondering—thinking through issues quietly, soberly, and deeply.

Lack of pondering can also affect my spiritual wellbeing. The pressure for action often outweighs the time taken to think. David knew the value of quiet meditation.
I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds. Psalm 77:12
Blessed is the one…whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. Psalm 1:1-2
The godly heart and obedience of David reveals his life of meditation. His sins against God reveal those times when action came before thought—a stark example of the need to think before I act.

Will you join me this week and stop to ponder?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
