Learning from Jesus' Questions - A Demanding Religiosity
To what can I compare this generation? Matthew 11:16 NIV
Jesus answers His own question by likening the attitude of the religious people of His day to the demanding attitude of children. Since John the Baptist and Jesus did not fit into the people's demands of religiosity, they described John as demon possessed and Jesus as a glutton, a drunkard, and a friend of sinners.
I wonder about my life of faith in Jesus. Do I sometimes "play at religion" or judge others by false standards of religiosity? Paul said that my attitude should be like that of Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:5). Oh, that it might be so!
Dear God, forgive me for my childish behavior of religiosity which sometimes describes my life. May I be known for my child-like behavior which seeks the will of the ABBA, Father.
