Devout

If only two words described me, what would they be?  The Apostle Luke described Simeon with these two words,

Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. Luke 2:25 NIV

Devout - that ardent, steadfast, passionate, pious faith expressed in the life of Simeon could only be captured in this word.

Devotion to God requires all of me.  It leads to new internal rhythms and commitments that change the way I live my life daily.  The Apostle Luke, describing the early Christians, expressed this thought that internal devotion leads to external living,

They devoted themselves to the apostlesʼ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Acts 2:42 NIV

What two words will be used to describe me?  I hope “devout” is one of those words!  What about you?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
