See One, Do One, Teach One
In medical school, books and lectures were only the beginning. Learning to practice medicine was never left to didactics alone. The dictum “See one, do one, teach one” was the method used to take me from theory to practice. I benefited from the example of great teachers and mentors - a source of great encouragement to me.
As Jesus walked with His disciples, He also used a mentoring process. He taught as He walked, always modeling His teaching. After washing the disciples feet, Jesus said,
And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. John 13:14-15 NLT
Following Jesus involves seeing, doing and teaching. Would you join me this week in living out Jesus’ command, “Do as I have done to you” ?
Sharing the journey with you,
