Do You Hear What I Hear?

  • Hearing is the act of acknowledging that words were spoken.
  • Listening is the act of trying to understand their meaning.” Simon Sinek

Many times, I hear, but do not listen. Sometimes I do not even hear! However, when I hear words spoken and listen with understanding, I enter more deeply into the person who is speaking.

Jesus also knew that my capacity to listen well and learn from God the Father and His Word would affect my relationship with Him when Jesus said,

Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me.(John 6:45 NIV)

Not only reading and hearing the words of God, but also listening and learning from them, nurtures my trust and love for Jesus. And this is a very good thing!

Will you join me in tuning our ears to God, listening and learning?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
