Worth Saving
At times I enjoy perusing antique shops, looking for old books. I've come to realize that the worth of each object is not found in monetary value alone, but also in something that touches my heart.
From my youth to the present there have been times when I have struggled not only over the value of inanimate objects but also over my own worth -- my appearance, my intellect, my job or my net worth. When I use these measures to determine my value, disappointment is inevitable.
Gratefully, God values me by a different scale saying in Isaiah 43:3,
For I am the Lord, your God,
the Holy One of Israel Your Savior;
I give Egypt for your ransom,
Cush and Seba in your stead.
Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you.
As image-bearers of God and joint-heirs with Him and because of the great price He paid for us, we can never say we are worthless.
Interestingly, God also has given us the joy of helping Him reclaim other "lost treasures" What a privilege!! Join me this week in seeing what God sees and values in those with whom we live and work. All are worth saving!!!
Sharing the journey with you,
