How am I doing?

I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line…  Isaiah 28:17a NIV 

The prophet Isaiah tells me that I am measured by justice and righteousness. Both are a measure of character—an overflow from the heart.  

Sometimes I would prefer a list of rules that I could mark “DONE.” But God wants my heart, not a checked list. When my heart overflows with the love of Jesus, I experience peace and rest, not the anxiety of “have I done enough?”
