Forgiveness

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15 NIV

Forgiveness is hard for me. To be forgiven, I must swallow my pride and admit fault; to forgive, I must swallow my pride and let go. Either way, selfishness can keep me from doing what is right.

While Jesus hung on the cross, he cried out, “Father, forgive them.” I wonder how hard that was for him. Yet he calls me to do the same.

Will you join me this week in the practice of forgiveness?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
