Giving vs Receiving

It is more blessed to give than receive. Acts 20:35 NIV

You must be kidding! Not only does the world encourage the accumulation of wealth, things, position and honors, it shouts its necessity.

Yet Jesus suggests another way: giving rather than accumulating. Delighting in giving to others rather than acquiring for myself. In fact Isaiah suggests the results of living this lifestyle will be spectacular. 

And if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like noonday. Isaiah 58:10 NIV

The opportunity for joy and delight presents itself daily...will you join me in giving liberally?
