Hypocrite!

I know my heart. At times it is filled with malice and deceit. Pretending goodness at such times makes me a hypocrite! However, I am a rehabilitating hypocrite with a strong desire for goodness and godliness. What to do?

Jesus was particularly harsh with religious leaders who pretended goodness and godliness with malicious hearts. He said,

Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
“ These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
They worship me in vain;
              their teachings are but rules taught by men.”

I don’t want to be a hypocrite. It is for certain that I am not perfect! However, I do want to strive for sincerity, recognize hypocrisy when it raises its ugly head and repent.

Will you join me this week in speaking truth with a sincere heart?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
