Looking for God

Sometimes I fail to see God when circumstances don't live up to my expectations. Instead of looking for God, I have been known to whine and complain.

An elderly Hungarian friend demonstrated a better way. He arrived at my office for a special event on the wrong day. He cast his gaze around the room. I asked what he was doing. He said, "I am looking for God." Realizing that I was discouraged, he prayed intently for me and encouraged my heart. Finally he left and went on his way content in God’s purpose for that time and place. He had found God.

The patriarch, Joseph, experienced the unexpected and tragic. Yet in the end he found God and His purposes as he told his brothers,

You intended to harm me but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Genesis 50:20 NIV

Will you join me in looking for Him and His purposes when the unexpected happens? He is there!!!

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
