An Impossible Requirement

God’s desire for me is abundant fruitfulness. He even gave me the prescription for this,

Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. John 12:24 NIV

Do you mean to tell me that Jesus is saying that I must die to myself in order to be fruitful?

The issue is not improving myself but rather dying to myself. Only then can fruit grow and flourish. You must be kidding. Rather than dying to self I prefer to say, “I am actually a good guy.”  But Jesus says my goodness is not good enough. Only His perfect goodness will do.

It all begins by exchanging my will for His will, therefore allowing my will to die. This painful process results in an abundance of fruit and joy.

Will you join me in dying to self?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
