A Child of God - What Does That Mean?
Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12 NIV
The reality of this thought empowers me in many ways. I am an heir and joint-heir with Christ (Romans 8:17). I have an inheritance that will never spoil or fade (1 Peter 1:4). When I understand the assurance of God's commitment to me as His child, I can only respond with gratitude, joy, and a life filled...
- With a purpose to honor and glorify my Father. (Isaiah 43:7, Revelation 4:11)
- With a goal to be transformed more and more into the image and likeness of His son, Jesus. (Romans 8:29)
- With a mission to share the love and reality of Jesus with others. (Acts 1:8, John 17:18)
I am grateful to be a child of God, and to be adopted into a family of other believers of brothers and sisters, like you, that make life rich and full. Join me in celebrating the family this week!
Sharing the journey with you,
