Simplicity
But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:3 NKJV
The apostle Paul realized even in the first century that life had a way of moving from quiet simplicity to chaotic complexity - thus his warning to the Corinthians.
Simplicity is an inward reality of making the main thing the main thing…seek first the Kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33). Simplicity brings clarity, focus and direction.
As I bring my decision-making process through the grid of “seek first the Kingdom of God”, I am better able to make God-honoring decisions. This is not to minimize the difficulty and complexity of life. But in the end I want to be known as a Christ-follower living in the simplicity that is in Christ—liberated and empowered by Him to do right and to live righteously guided by His Word.
Will you join me in seeking Christ this week? It is not as complex as we might think.
Sharing the journey with you,
