The Seal of Approval

In the early 20th century, the Good Housekeeping Magazine initiated the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. This seal of approval protected against misrepresentation by food suppliers. This endorsement affirmed that a product was good. I, too, enjoy receiving a "seal of approval" from those in authority. It brings acknowledgement, favor and recognition.

For on him [Jesus] God the Father has placed his seal of approval.
(John 6:27 NIV)

I long to have God's seal of approval on me as well. But how is that possible? It is easy to think that the good things I do merit God's favor. But Jesus reminds me that...

The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent. (John 6:29 NIV)

Join me this week in securing God's seal of approval...believe in Jesus and trust Him.

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
