No Room for Jesus

There was no room in the inn at Jesus’ birth because it was full. At times "full" could describe my life – busy and distracted – leaving little room for Jesus. In order to create space for God I must allow for margins in my life – elbow room for God to work His way.

Since God’s way is not usually my way, I need godly flexibility that allows me to respond to His timing and agenda. My instinct is “go ahead and get it done.” The thought of first approaching God and making room for Him does not come easily for me. Yet Jesus said,

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33 ESV)

If I took this to heart, my agenda might be more easily moldable to His agenda.

Will you join me in seeking God first in all things – making space for Him moment-by-moment and holding loosely to our own plans?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
