Expiration Dates

Are you as confused by the expiration dates on the food items at the grocery store as I am? "Sell by" dates, "use by" dates, "best if used by" dates are unclear to me. Will I die if I eat something that has expired? I think they are to tell me there are dates beyond which the quality of the food cannot be guaranteed.

Do I have an expiration date? Yes, of course, but it is not the same as food. My expiration date connects me with eternity in a moment. King David knew that he possessed one too.

  Show me, Lord, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is. (Psalm 39:4 NIV) 

I am reminded that the days of my life are fleeting. Join me in living life to the full in the Lord each day — the quality of our lives depends on it.
