The Key

I remember with dread a night in Kiev, Ukraine. Returning to an old, completely dark, high-rise apartment where I was staying, I could not match the right door with the right key. I can tell you, it was a harrowing experience late at night in a strange city. I learned an important lesson that night. Only one key could open the correct apartment door.

Having the right key is critical. Today, glancing at my key chain, I realize that each key opens something of value to me - my house, my car, my office. Each key is specific and without it, I cannot open the lock.

The key to the door of salvation, wisdom and knowledge has been offered to me. However, only the right key will unlock the rich treasures. The prophet Isaiah tells me,

He [The Lord] will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure. (Isaiah 33:6 NIV)

Only with the correct key can we open God‘s treasure. Join me in making sure we are using the right key.

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
