Acceptance
Flooding my heart with anxious anticipation have been thoughts of class rank, GPA, references, and test scores - all the result of watching my daughters in the swirl that represents college acceptance and job search. This thought of "Will I be accepted?" unearths vivid memories of applying to medical school more than 30 years ago.
Struggling to convince admissions committees of my "noble" accomplishments produced an algorism in my mind:

Much of life operates on this treacherous path. As a result, the work world, the church, and even the family can find themselves locked in a process that leads to the question, "How good is good enough?"
Thankfully, God operates in just the reverse fashion. Offering acceptance as a free gift through the blood of His Son, God offers a different way:

By faith, we are able to accept our acceptance.
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8 NIV)
We can confidently move through life this week knowing God's acceptance and with our significance already defined.
